I am trying to decide whether to purchase a Health Maintenance Organization
(HMO) plan. How can I find out which doctors I'll be able to visit?
HMOs and Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) have lists of doctors,
hospitals and other medical facilities with which they contract. (In some
cases, physicians may be employees of the HMO.) Ask the insurance company
for a copy of the provider list or booklet for your area. You would then
choose a primary care provider from this list.
